Ellen – Muskrats are large rodents that always live near water. They have thick brown fur and a long, furless, scaly tail. They can grow up to two feet long (with tail). This is one that has been living near our yard for a few years now. He was quite small when we first saw him. Lately, he’s been up on our lawn eating the birdseed that falls out of the feeder.

Glad he kept his tail from view as that rat’s tail is so unappealing! He does look like he hopes to be unobserved.
