These first two were taken in March when the levels were extremely high. We had to put cement blocks on the docks to keep them from floating away. The second two were taken on Christmas Day — they have been lowering the level in the lake to hopefully rid it of some of the vegetation growing on the bottom. They feel if they can freeze it — it won’t grow back. We’ll just have to wait and see.
This is a picture of my hubby, Ed, in his McDowell Kilt. At the present time there are only two (2) McDowell Kilt’s in the world. Our Clan being from the Lowlands never had their own tartan so last year our Clan Chief, Fergus Macdowall decided that it was time to have one and this is his design. It is absolutely beautiful. We visited Fergus and his lovely wife, Sandy on Vancouver Island in British Columbia this past summer and he presented Ed with enough tartan for his own kilt! Up until this time if you were a McDowell you wore the MacDougall Tartan. Anyway – I think it is a very Masculine look and by the number of women who love men in kilts I’d say it’s a good description! Also, the Tartan or Plaid is a registered pattern with the “Lord Lyon” in London. Anyway it’s ours and we love it.
